Job Description
Edgeford Healthcare is seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a locum tenens opportunity at a hospital near Marion, North Carolina. This highly autonomous practice offers a diverse case mix with a strong emphasis on obstetric and regional anesthesia, making it an ideal opportunity for providers seeking clinical independence and challenging cases.
The anesthesia team operates within a collaborative care model consisting of one anesthesiologist and three CRNAs onsite daily. During call shifts, providers may function independently and should be comfortable managing a variety of anesthesia responsibilities, including obstetric and emergency procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia services for obstetric, orthopedic, ENT, endoscopy, and general surgery cases
- Perform epidurals, spinal anesthesia, peripheral nerve blocks, and epidural blood patches
- Place central venous catheters as needed
- Provide autonomous anesthesia coverage during assigned call periods
- Manage overnight OB anesthesia needs and urgent add-on procedures
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative staff to ensure exceptional patient care
Compensation & Benefits
- Daily compensation ranging from $1,900 – $2,800
- 1099 independent contractor status

Job Requirements
- Current NBCRNA certification required
- Active North Carolina license required or eligible
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current PALS certification required
- Experienced in obstetric anesthesia required
- Regional anesthesia experience required
- Regional anesthesia certification highly preferred
- Case logs demonstrating OB and regional anesthesia proficiency required
- Must be proficient with epidurals, spinals, peripheral nerve blocks, epidural blood patches, and central line placement
Schedule & Work Environment
- Locum tenens 1099 opportunity
- Mix of 8, 10, and 12-hour in-house shifts
- Monday-Friday schedule
- Weekday beeper call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 24-hour weekend call responsibilities
- 30-minute response time required while on call
- Collaborative care team model with 1:3 anesthesiologist-to-CRNA ratio
- Autonomous practice environment during call shifts
- Use of Qgenda, Cerner, and AIMS clinical systems
- High callback volume expected, primarily for overnight epidurals and urgent procedures
