Job Description

Benefis Health System is seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join its anesthesia team in Great Falls, Montana, with a dedicated focus on obstetric anesthesia. This full-time W-2 position is structured around 24-hour in-house shifts on the Labor and Delivery unit, offering an exceptional work-life balance with approximately 275 days off per year.

This role is ideal for CRNAs who enjoy high-autonomy practice in obstetrics while maintaining the option to supplement income through additional shifts in outpatient procedural areas such as Ambulatory Surgery, Endoscopy, Cath Lab, and Radiology. Benefis is a Level II trauma center with a strong, established anesthesia department and full Epic EMR integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia care for obstetric patients
• Manage labor epidurals, spinal anesthesia, and cesarean section anesthesia
• Respond to obstetric emergencies and trauma activations as required
• Participate in perioperative care for OB-related procedures
• Collaborate with OB physicians, nursing staff, and NICU teams

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual salary range: $270,000–$320,000
• Compensation reviewed annually against market benchmarks
• Base salary increases tied to years of service

Schedule & Work Environment

• 90 total 24-hour in-house shifts per year
• Approximately 275 days off annually

• Two operating rooms located on the Labor & Delivery unit
• Level III NICU located one floor below L&D
• 100% independent CRNA practice model
• Epic electronic medical record system

Case Mix

• Labor epidurals
• Cesarean sections (approximately 30% of deliveries)
• Dilation and curettage procedures
• Blood patches
• Tubal ligations
• Cervical cerclage procedures
• Average of 4–6 OB-related procedures per shift
• Approximately 115 deliveries per month

Job Requirements

• Active NBCRNA certification
• Eligibility for Montana licensure
• Experience in obstetric anesthesia
• Comfort practicing independently in a 24-hour in-house OB role
• New graduates not accepted for this position
