Job Description
A locum tenens CRNA opportunity is available in Upstate New York offering competitive hourly pay, a weekly stipend, and flexible scheduling options. This assignment provides a mix of general and specialty cases in a large hospital system with modern facilities and strong clinical support.
CRNAs will work in a collaborative environment with the flexibility to choose between 4-day or 5-day workweeks. This role is ideal for experienced providers seeking a balance of autonomy and team-based care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia care for a variety of surgical procedures
- Manage bread-and-butter cases with optional OB involvement
- Perform regional anesthesia blocks and general anesthesia
- Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and develop care plans
- Monitor patients throughout procedures and manage recovery
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams
Compensation & Benefits
- $250 per hour
- $1,400 weekly stipend
- 1099 independent contractor position
- Flexible scheduling with 4x10s or 5x8s
- $1,000 referral bonus available
- Long-term assignment (6 months to 1 year)
Job Requirements
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- NBCRNA certification required
- New York license or willingness to obtain (unlicensed candidates accepted)
- 2–3 years of experience preferred
- Comfort with general anesthesia and regional blocks
- OB experience preferred but not required
Schedule & Work Environment
- Schedule options: 4-day (10-hour shifts) or 5-day (8-hour shifts)
- Must be available at least 2 weeks per month
- Credentialing timeline approximately 60 days
- Start date approximately 60 days from offer
- Large hospital system with 30 operating rooms
- Main OR: 21 rooms, plus dedicated C-section and cardiac ORs
- Additional procedural areas include trauma OR, cath lab, EP lab, and biplane suite
- Case mix includes orthopedics, vascular, spine, and general surgery
- No cardiac or thoracic case requirements
- EMR system: Epic
