The Otterbein University Nurse Anesthesia Program is a full-time, 36-month Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) track offered in collaboration with Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. The program typically admits a selective cohort of approximately 20–25 students each year and is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA). Students complete the majority of their clinical education at Grant Medical Center, a large urban Level I trauma center, with additional rotations at affiliated sites that provide broad exposure to general, regional, obstetric, pediatric, and high-acuity anesthesia care. The curriculum emphasizes early and progressive clinical immersion, high case volume, and close faculty mentorship while integrating doctoral-level coursework in leadership and evidence-based practice.

Program Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
Current unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse.
Minimum of one year full time experience as a registered nurse in a critical care unit within the last 5 years. Acceptable critical care experience provides applicants with experience in: Interpretation of invasive monitors, Titration of vasoactive infusions, Management of ventilated patients, and Care of acutely ill patients. Not acceptable: Operating Room, Telemetry Unit, or PACU.
A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for undergraduate course work.
Complete the GRE with satisfactory scores.
Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse).
A grade of B or better in an undergraduate statistics course.
Applicants are required to spend a minimum of one day observing a practicing CRNA or anesthesiologist in the Operating Room.
