Job Description
St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse, New York is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join its anesthesia team. This hospital-based position offers a collaborative clinical environment where CRNAs provide comprehensive anesthesia care across a variety of surgical and procedural settings.
CRNAs work closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary care teams while maintaining a high level of clinical autonomy. The role includes preoperative assessment, anesthesia administration, intraoperative monitoring, and postoperative patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations including patient history, physical assessment, and diagnostic review
- Develop anesthesia care plans in collaboration with the anesthesia team
- Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia
- Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthetic levels during procedures
- Manage airways and ensure adequate ventilation and oxygenation
- Provide post-anesthesia care including pain management and patient recovery monitoring
- Document anesthesia care accurately in the patient EMR
- Participate in safety initiatives and continuing education programs
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $260,000 – $290,000 annually
- $100,000 starting bonus

Job Requirements
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited program
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- NBCRNA certification or eligibility
- Active RN and APRN licensure in New York
- Experience providing anesthesia across surgical and procedural settings
- New graduates welcome

- Full-time W-2 position
- Shift options include 8, 10, and 12-hour schedules
