Job Description
HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois is seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for a locum tenens assignment with an immediate start option. This opportunity offers increased rates, a completion bonus, and flexible scheduling in a hospital setting.
CRNAs will provide anesthesia care across a mix of general, orthopedic, and obstetric cases. This role is ideal for experienced providers looking for a short-term assignment with strong compensation incentives and quick credentialing options.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia services for general, orthopedic, and OB procedures
- Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and develop care plans
- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout procedures
- Ensure patient safety and manage intraoperative care
- Provide post-anesthesia recovery and patient monitoring
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams
Compensation & Benefits
- $30,000 completion bonus for immediate start
- 1099 independent contractor structure

Job Requirements
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Active Illinois state license required
- NBCRNA certification required
- Experienced CRNAs only (new graduates not accepted)
- Ability to start quickly with expedited credentialing
Schedule & Work Environment
- Locum tenens 1099 position
- Assignment duration of 12+ weeks
- Flexible shifts including 8, 10, and 12-hour options
- Emergency privileges available for quick start
- Hospital-based practice setting
- Case mix includes general, orthopedic, and OB procedures
- Overtime not required but available
