Job Highlights

1099 Call Optional CO Full Time Locum Tenens

Job Description

A hospital-based anesthesia group in Pueblo, Colorado is seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for a locum tenens assignment with an ASAP start upon credentialing. This is a definite opportunity offering exceptional scheduling flexibility, no call requirements, and a collaborative care team environment within a well-established anesthesia department.

This position is structured as a 1099 locum role with full-time availability strongly preferred, though part-time candidates will also be considered. Providers may choose from a variety of schedule options including five 8-hour shifts, four 10-hour shifts, or three 12-hour shifts per week. Weekend-only availability is also accepted, and providers will not be required to work holidays. GI-focused schedules are available, typically Monday through Thursday with four 10-hour shifts, making this an excellent option for CRNAs with endoscopy experience.

The practice is hospital-based and includes approximately 25 surgical cases per day across 10 operating rooms. The case mix consists of roughly 80% general surgery, 10% complex vascular cases (excluding open heart), and 10% complex orthopedic procedures. Neurosurgical spine cases and advanced orthopedic procedures are also part of the clinical scope. Pediatric cases are not required but are preferred. Fellowship training is not required for cardiac or pediatric exposure.

The anesthesia department includes 11 anesthesiologists and 28 CRNAs, operating in a team care model with physician supervision typically closer to a 1:2 or 1:3 ratio, despite being described as 1:4 on paper. CRNAs will also provide coverage at a satellite location located directly across the street, allowing for continuity without extensive travel. The facility uses EPIC for charting and GE Carestation 650 anesthesia machines. Emergency credentialing and privileging are available, significantly expediting the onboarding process.
