Job Description
SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking a PRN/Fill-In Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join its highly collaborative anesthesia team. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling and the ability to work across a wide variety of case types within a leading healthcare system.
CRNAs will work in a team-based model across both inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting surgical services at St. Mary’s Hospital and the adjacent Surgery and Care Center. This role is ideal for providers seeking flexibility while maintaining exposure to a diverse and complex case mix.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia services across a broad range of surgical specialties
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and develop care plans
- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout procedures
- Deliver post-anesthesia care and ensure safe recovery
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists and CRNAs in a team-based model
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Job Requirements
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
- Eligible for Wisconsin licensure
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Schedule & Work Environment
- PRN / fill-in position
- Flexible scheduling with 8, 10, 12, and 24-hour shift options
- Monday through Friday coverage with variable needs
- Hospital and outpatient surgery center settings
- Team includes 17 anesthesiologists and 77+ CRNAs
- Facility includes multiple operating rooms, cardiovascular suites, OB suites, and endoscopy rooms
- Case mix includes general, orthopedic, ENT, GI, vascular, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, pediatrics, and OB
