Job Description
Stanford Health Care is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our renowned anesthesia team. This is an exceptional opportunity to provide anesthesia care in a state-of-the-art facility with cutting-edge technology, supporting a wide range of surgical and diagnostic procedures. As a CRNA, you will collaborate closely with anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care. This full-time role offers daytime shifts with no on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the anesthesia team to provide safe and effective anesthesia for patients undergoing surgical and diagnostic procedures.
- Conduct pre-operative evaluations and create individualized anesthesia care plans.
- Monitor patients intraoperatively, adjusting anesthesia as necessary to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Manage post-operative pain and provide follow-up care as needed.
- Mentor and train student nurse anesthetists.
- Participate in departmental and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.
Scope of Practice
- Obtain complete histories and perform physical exams with assessments of findings.
- Perform or request diagnostic studies and evaluate results.
- Administer anesthesia agents and adjunctive drugs per standardized procedures.
- Perform airway management and insert invasive monitoring lines as needed.
- Respond to abnormal patient responses during anesthesia, implementing corrective actions and consulting with anesthesiologists as needed.
- Document all aspects of anesthesia care according to regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate patient responses during emergence and recovery, implementing treatments to ensure patient stability.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Graduate of a CRNA program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).
- Doctoral degree in Nursing preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current California RN and CRNA licenses.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- CRNA certification.
Experience and Skills:
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Annual Estimated Salary or Payment
The salary range for this position is $270,000 to $300,000 annually. Additional benefits include:
