Job Description

Palmetto General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our dedicated team in Hialeah, FL. The CRNA will be responsible for providing anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures in a collaborative, team-based environment. The position involves working closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective delivery of anesthesia services.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia and monitor patient responses during and after procedures.
• Perform pre-anesthetic assessments, including reviewing patient history, physical exams, and diagnostic data.
• Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans.
• Manage airways and ventilatory support, including intubation and extubation.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed for patient safety and comfort.
• Provide post-anesthesia care, including pain management and monitoring for complications.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of anesthesia care and patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and clinical outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about anesthesia procedures, risks, and post-operative care.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in anesthesia practice through continuing education and professional development.

Job Requirements

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited program
• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) certification from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
• Active RN and APRN licensure in Florida
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments and respond quickly to emergencies

Schedule & Work Environment

• Hospital-based setting including operating rooms, labor and delivery units, and interventional radiology suites
• Variable shifts including days, nights, weekends, and on-call
• Fast-paced, team-oriented environment
