The Geisinger Nurse Anesthesia Program is a full-time, doctoral-level program embedded within Geisinger’s integrated, physician-led health system in central and northeastern Pennsylvania. Students train within a high-acuity clinical environment anchored by Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, a major tertiary and quaternary referral center serving a large rural catchment area. The curriculum emphasizes early and progressive clinical immersion, exposing students to complex surgical cases, advanced monitoring, regional anesthesia, obstetrics, pediatrics, and trauma care while pairing rigorous anesthesia science coursework with leadership and systems-based practice. This health-system–based model allows students to develop strong clinical autonomy while training across multiple Geisinger hospitals and specialty sites.
