The La Roche University Nurse Anesthesia Program offers both an entry-level and a DNAP completion track accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA), preparing graduates for advanced practice and leadership in anesthesia care. The entry-level DNAP sequence is designed to guide students through a practice-oriented doctoral curriculum that emphasizes evidence-based care, leadership development, and multidisciplinary collaboration. In addition to intensive coursework on campus, the program partners with affiliate clinical sites throughout the Pittsburgh region to provide early and progressive hands-on anesthesia experience, and also offers an advanced-standing completion option for currently certified CRNAs seeking a doctoral degree.

Program Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.

Current licensure as a registered nurse.

A minimum of one year of nursing experience in an adult critical care setting.

Grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at the undergraduate level.

Acceptable scores on the Graduate Record Exam or Miller Analogy Test.

Certifications: BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).

You need a B or better in the following courses: Chemistry, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, and Physics.
