The University of Scranton Nurse Anesthesia Program is a full-time, doctoral-level track offered through the Panuska College of Professional Studies in partnership with regional hospital-based anesthesia programs in Pennsylvania and surrounding states. The curriculum is structured to provide early and progressive clinical immersion, with students completing extensive hands-on training across community hospitals and larger referral centers while administering a broad range of anesthetics. Emphasis is placed on strong foundational sciences, ethical practice rooted in the university’s Jesuit tradition, and the development of independent clinical judgment through close faculty mentorship and a cohort-based learning model.

Program Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Pennsylvania.
A minimum of one year of recent critical care nursing experience.
Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 or other evidence of ability to complete successfully a graduate program such as grades in other post-baccalaureate courses.
Required to submit official GRE test scores if your cumulative GPA is below 3.0.
Required Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
Undergraduate Course Prerequisites: Basic physical assessment, Statistics, and 2 courses in college chemistry.
