Job Description

The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for our Clear Lake and League City campuses. As a CRNA at UTMB, you will work in a collegial and supportive environment alongside a collaborative team of experienced anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and surgical staff. This position offers exposure to a broad range of cases, including general, plastic, orthopedic, gynecology/obstetrics, ear-nose-throat (ENT), and neurological surgery. Key Responsibilities

  • Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing a variety of surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop and execute individualized anesthesia care plans.
  • Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and assess patient history and condition to determine the appropriate anesthesia approach.
  • Manage patient airways and ventilation, monitor vital signs, and adjust anesthesia levels during procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Provide post-anesthesia care, including pain management and recovery monitoring.
  • Contribute to the training and education of anesthesiology residents and students, if desired.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $209,600 – $245,000
  • Income Potential: >$300,000 with overtime
  • 22 vacation days annually (increases with years of service)

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).
  • Valid Texas RN and CRNA licenses.
  • National Certification Examination required by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume hospital setting.
